We are thrilled to announce our 2015 AIGA Fellow, Darren Abbott.

Darren is creative group vice president at Hallmark Cards, Inc. In his role, he leads one of the world’s largest creative staffs—including more than 500 artists, designers, stylists, writers, editors, and photographers.

Since joining Hallmark in 1996 as a designer, he has held many positions—each having more responsibility than the next. One of his key roles was helping to found Hallmark’s award-winning Marketing Design Studio. Soon after that, he was named vice president for creative marketing and digital studios in 2011, and was promoted to his current assignment in 2012.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design with an emphasis in advertising from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

The AIGA Fellow program recognizes a designer who has made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within our local and regional design community as well as in our Kansas City AIGA chapter.
