Ride the Weird with Jolby and Friends

Jolby & Friends invites, nay, insists you “ride the weird.” The Portland-based creative studio relies on this concept to guide its collaborative process and discover a little piece of magic in all its team creates. On November 6 (6:30 pm), AIGA KC is fortunate to have studio co-founders Josh Kenyon and Colby Nichols lead a workshop and talk at the Center for Architecture. Attendees will learn from the two on how to work as a team to let loose, trust ideas, and welcome new concepts, perhaps coming from a place one never imagined.

“Ride the weird” roughly translates to “Check out this idea I have. It’s not perfect, but there’s a nugget of awesome in here and I need help to uncover it!” Been there before? Us too. At this workshop, you’ll learn how to push past these sticking points as you get to know fellow attendees and even create something together. Working with others is a powerful tool. This workshop will teach you some cool ways to collaborate and will also help you realize your best work by harnessing the power of teamwork.
