Jessica Hische: Tomorrow I’ll Be Brave

Adventurous, strong, smart, curious, creative, confident, brave – whatever it is you want to be – join us on Dec. 12 for a talk with Jessica Hische who will no doubt help teach you how when she recounts balancing the roles of designer, storyteller, and parent while creating her book “Tomorrow I’ll Be Brave.”

Jessica Hische is renowned in the design world for her lovely and ornate illustrations, custom lettering, and typefaces. An early Forbes magazine “30 under 30” selectee in art and design, her work has been featured in numerous U.S. and international design and illustration publications. Hische’s clients have ranged from author Dave Eggers and filmmaker Wes Anderson (creating the titles for Moonrise Kingdom) to Starbucks, Google, Apple, Nike, and The New York Times.

Her latest project targets a different audience: her children. Hische’s lush new picture book, Tomorrow I’ll Be Brave, takes young readers through a world filled with positive and beautifully hand-lettered words of wisdom, inspiration, and motivation.

In a discussion aimed at adults, Hische recounts how she balanced the roles of designer, storyteller, and parent in undertaking the endeavor. Her presentation is co-presented by the Kansas City Public Library. This book will be available for purchase.
