Just off 47th St sits the Grand Street Café. Unassuming from the outside, it’s not only an amazing event space but also the best kept secret in the city for happy hour (we hear their brunch is fantastic, too.)

As soon as you enter the door, you’re greeted by the modern looking bar and main dining room. The event spaces also follow the modern feel, but have the added plus of stunning Country Club Plaza views.

The space has been locally owned and operated for more than 20 years. On a regular weekday, it has an uber-local feel. We sat at the bar and witnessed many of the customers being greeted by name. In fact, one of the bartenders noted that he had been serving one bar patron every day for the last 10 years. That has to be a good sign.

From 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on weekdays, Grand Street Café has great happy hour deals on both drinks and food (try the kettle corn and the pretzels) as well as a crowd who is as friendly as it is diverse. Luxurious without being stuffy, it’s the perfect spot to wind down from a busy week.

And the event space? Well, we’ll just have to find out. Join us on September 21 for the A9 Exhibition & Gala.
