Disruption by Design with Lauren Allen of Women-Led Cycling

Have you ever wondered how you can merge your passion for design and social justice? In celebration of National Bike Month, Lauren Allen of Women-Led Cycling looks at the intersectionality of cycling, design, and accessibility. At this junction, Lauren is disrupting the status quo of what it means and looks like to be a “cyclist” by working to break down barriers for marginalized folks in Kansas City and the surrounding areas.

Lauren will discuss the history of bikes and design as a tool for disruption, diving deep into the importance of acknowledging representation, language, barriers and unconscious bias. Be prepared to be inspired to deepen your design practice and maybe even get on a bike!

Light refreshments will be provided.
