Voted KC’s “Best Dance DJ” by the 2013 Pitch Music Awards and also nominated in KC’s “Best Of” by Pitch, Sheppa – DJ / designer / art director / producer – continues to refine and define his interpretation of the ideal audio-visual experience. Also known for his co-founding role in Nomathmatics (a DJ collective/other alias,) Sheppa has been producing and playing at successful dance parties and events all over the country from Miami’s Winter Music Conference to SXSW’s Music Festival.

In addition to Sheppa’s skills as a DJ, he also has degree in Design and formerly worked at Hallmark as a Graphic Designer. He has been running his own freelance graphic design business for the past three years winning multiple AIGA design awards; and has been published in PRINT and HOW magazines. He has also designed multiple album covers, tour posters and video promos for local and  international artists.

It’s in harnessing these diverse skill sets that he has developed a unique aesthetic pushing his parties such as BODY2BODY to stand out. His monthly events consistently attract large crowds with Sheppa enhancing the overall DJ experience through fusion of the music / art / design worlds that range from designed event flyers, video promos and lighting effects.

Collaborations with Kansas City’s top creatives is one aspect that makes his events unique. Whether it’s with the highly acclaimed dance group “Quixotic” or the cutting-edge kid show “Whoop Dee Doo,” Sheppa always looks to mesh his design and music skill with other local talents. more
